Enjoy your stay at Rubáiyát! But please be mindful of the owners' low-waste, carbon-smart priorities, and show respect for the local community and staff who maintain this property.
Below are frequently asked guest questions and answers.
We are here, how do we enter the building(s)?
The main house has a digital lock. Contact the owners for a combination code. The outhouse building has physical locks. If you need to use the building, please arrange for the key in advance.
Who can we contact for help while here?
Rubáiyát has three full time staff members:

What are the staff timings?
The three staff members will be available between 9 Am and 4 PM, Monday through Saturday. They are not available on Sundays.
What should we do about food?
If you have pre-arranged food with the staff, they will be served in the main house at the following times:
Breakfast: 10 AM
Lunch: 1:30 AM
Dinner is made and kept in the main house before the staff leave, You can reheat and have at your convenience.
For eating out, the best option is Caves restaurant within Evora resort at Narikkund (3 KM). You can also order delivery from Wilton Restaurant in Sulthan Bathery.
What about tea, coffee and snacks?
Tea and coffee ingredients are available in the kitchen cupboards in the main house. There’s usually some snacks in the cupboards as well. The staff will not be able to help you with tea, coffee, or snacks.
What about pots, pans and dishes?
There are pots, pans, plates, mugs, glasses, and silverware available in the kitchen drawers. Please run the dishwasher at regular intervals to keep the sink clean. Dishwasher tablets are in the bottom middle drawer on the kitchen island.
Is housekeeping available during our stay?
Not usually, except for daily clearing of waste bins. Please maintain cleanliness throughout your stay. The staff may be called upon in case of emergencies.
What about waste management?
Rubáiyát follows strict waste segregation, and disposal routines. This is essential to maintain the facilities in the remote location.
1) Food and other biodegradable waste goes in dustbin next to the kitchen sink. This is composted on site.
2) Paper, plastic, and other clean dry waste goes in the dustbin next to the refrigerator. Dry waste is collected by the Ambalavayal Panchayat at regular intervals.
3) There’s no way to dispose off sanitary or human waste on premise. Please pack and carry it back with you out of the property. If you are planning a bonfire, sanitary waste may be tossed in the fire.
What about bedding and towels (including pool towels)?
Beds are made before you arrive. Towels are available in each bathroom with a spare one in each bedroom cupboard. Pool towels are available in the console below the stair
Is there Wifi?

What if there is an emergency?
Contact staff during work hours.
If the power goes out, check the electrical distribution boards (DB) in the office room to see if anything has tripped.
For police, medical and other emergency contacts, refer to the information booklet on the coffee table in the living room.
